Home Learners Association of CNY Organizes Local Participation in National Homeschool Hike Bike Week
APRIL 2, 2009: The Home Learners Association of Central New York will be taking part in National Homeschool Hike-Bike Week.
During the last full week in May each year, Homeschoolers across America are actively engaging in many activities. One national activity is participation in the annual Homeschool Hike Bike Event.
This national event started in the Spring of 2005 and has now become an annual event. It was started to unite homeschoolers across America and promote awareness that homeschoolers do lead active lifestyles as well as engage in many social events.
Home Learners Association of CNY will be organizing a Hike-Bike Event for the CNY area. This is the first time Home Learners Association of CNY has organized participation in this annual event.
The event is going to be held on Thursday May 28, 2009 at the Erie Canal Park in Camillus, NY http://www.eriecanalcamillus.com. The times for the event are 12:00-3:00 pm. We plan on having a bring-your-own picnic lunch at 12:00 and then hiking and biking at 12:30 through the afternoon. This event is open to all homeschooling families across the CNY Region. It is a great way to meet new homeschooling families across our area. There is no rain date for this event.
Participants should be sure to bring plenty to drink and a snack or two, bug guard, and sunscreen. The trail is stone dust and will accommodate bikes, wagons, and strollers.
Any media coverage of this event would be greatly appreciated.
