Get to Know the Board of Directors
Jenafer spent 11 years as a NYS certified public elementary school teacher, teacher trainer and curriculum developer working in the public schools. Jenafer also taught for the Non-Profit organization The Gifted Child Society and worked as an educator in several summer camp programs. She holds a Bachelor's and a Masters degree in Education. She left her job in 2006 to stay at home and homeschool her children Michael and Meagan full time. Jenafer combines traditional homeschool philosophy with some unschooling methods.
Jessica is a former high-school English teacher. After teaching 9th, 10th, and 12th grade English in Cortland for five years, she trained in Montessori infant and toddler education. She and her husband currently use Montessori methods to teach their daughter and plan to transition into a secular, classical approach in the future.
Steven is the son of two teachers and has three post high school degrees, but understands that learning is for life. After becoming a father, of my 5 year old daughter Elise, my wife Erin and I have agreed that we wanted our daughter to be raised with our values in a safe environment. So here we are in the homeschool world learning as much as she is every day. Come share with us in our everlasting learning journey called life.
Gretchen is a homeschooling mom to 5 children, and has experience homeschooling a child with special needs.
